The King County Long Term Care Ombudsman program, a group of volunteers who advocate for the care and safety of seniors and other disabled adults living in nursing homes, assisted-living facilities and adult family homes, is recruiting volunteers from the Kirkland community to visit in their neighborhoods. Volunteers will complete a four day Washington state certification training, attend monthly in-services on long-term care issues and offer four hours per week of volunteer time. The Kirkland Senior Council supports the Ombudsman program and urges any interested individuals to contact Mary Fogh, King County Volunteer Coordinator, 206.694.6703, e-mail: maryf@solid-ground.org for more information.
